Can you imagine the confusion following order 66?

Thousands of Jedi attacked almost simultaneously. A few percent might have made it long enough to make a last stand.

Total chaos! Fierce fights to the death. Trapped, cornered, desperate fights. And then perhaps a fraction make it in to hiding striking out only when the new first Galactic Empire comes to close to the hideouts.

Someone should make a movie about that :)

Zombie Pilot

I had this idea about a Pilot come back to pay for his warcrimes by flying warmissions as a ghostplane... sort of... I guess it is pretty close to the Hellrider story. But a 1960s fighter Jet is way cooler then a MC, everyone knows that.

More Star Wars stuff

One is inspired by the game 'Force Unleashed II' The protagonist 'Starkiller', faces a room filled with clones of himself and must fight his way through! To me that is a very creepy situation and I got a little inspired by it.

The other is inspired by Darth Maul, wielding the double bladed lightsabre.

Both of these are done with a regular ink pen with no sketching prior. This is how I usually draw on my coffe brakes at work, and sometimes the drawings turn out ok.

No more mister Skyguy, thank you.

Ashoka doodle. I must admit Ashoka Tano has grown on me, she is a legitimate Star Wars character to me now. That is no small change since the character was horrible in the beginning of the series, too peppy and childish. Ridicilous dialogue and just not well written and she seemed totally out of place. But the writers have apparently done their work right because the development has been great. The original Trilogy will always stand out, or rather on top of everything else Star Wars. But I do enjoy Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Watching a weekly episode with my kids is good fun and I love to dive in to the Star Wars universe with them.

My son asked if I could make him a bookmark with the heroes 'Peo Pärsson & Billie' from his favorite TV-show 'Vintergatan'. I had forgot how nice crayons are. A good feeling, but the blunt edge was not ideal for such a small and detailed picture i guess. =)

I printed and laminated the picture. There is also a small instruction and greeting on the back. Now all I need is an address so I can send it of. I have not yet seen any of the other entries of the Holliday Exchange this year, but it is always a fun wait before the art arrives. I wonder what I will get this year?

Its that time of year. Hellboy Art Exchange 2010. This year I'm aiming for a more practial piece. The idea is to put this as a reminder on your way out from your home. It will be a laminated postcardsized picture.

I still only have about two pages scripted of this comic yet, but I felt I had to go ahead and Ink one page to see if I could live with the result. And I think I can. It looks ok and with some colour I think I may even be pleased with how it turned out. We'll se.

Fan Fiction - sort of...

A month or so ago at my inlaws house I opened a book of local ghost stories. It is called 'Stockholms Spökhus'. It translates 'The Haunted Houses of Stockholm'. I looked up an adress close to where I was just then and came across a story that was just perfect Hellboy material!

A story started to form in my head and the other day I got around to sketch the first frames. I have no idea how to do this but I will make it up as I go. I use my Hellboy books as reference when drawing the characters and even most of the poses are on loan from the books.

Perhaps I will learn to draw Hellboy so well by the end of the story that I can do my own compositions. Hopefully I will be able to finish it before I run out of steam!

Toothpick Neck

With the hollidays past I found a little time yesterday to mess around with the Hellboy sculpture again. I took Ivars advice and supported the neck with a pair of toothpicks. I can not think of anything more out of character. If Hellboy actually had a toothpick neck he would not have lasted long! Anyway it seems to have done the trick and supports the head of the sculpture nicely.

I also went with the formal suit on Hellboy like Kees suggested. The tought had crossed my mind before, but now it is happening and I think it will look OK.

So, here is the latest progression picture. I shortended the horn stumps. Fixed the neck. That involved complete decapitation actually. And then I started on shirt and tie.

Another two sessions, not too much time each. This is where im at. I have got troubble with his neck that is not supporting the weight of the skull properly. Not sure if i will have to do something about that or not...

Nicks and dents...

Still inspired by the 'Almost Colossus' drawing from the other day I drew this angel statue today at work. I usually doodle on the back of workorders or other piece of papers I happen to have handy. This one I did on my lunchbreak. and as I got to the part of adding the nicks and dents on the statue I realized that was missing from the drawing I did yesterday. So now I added some rough texture to that one too.

Almost Mignola?

I have started re-reading my Hellboy TPBs again. I just got to 'Almost Colossus' in the awesome 'The Chained Coffin and Others'. The title page has a classic Mignola statue and the sun and moon symbols on it. I decided to try draw it and here it is... Almost Mignola.

Sculpting!

After being inspired by the Hellboard i got myself a piece of Super Sculpey and started my first sculpture! Hellboy of course. This is after perhaps three hours work. The whole thing has been redone once and the head twice. But now I think it is possible to se a resemblance to Hellboy. This is a very rough work in progress of course. Lots of fun and just as difficult as I imagined.

Hellboy Forum Holliday Art Exchange 2008

This is what I made for the Hellboy Forum Holliday Art Exchange 2008. As you can se it is Hellboy and Hecate, but it is a product of two diffrent Mignola pictures. So it is at least original in its composition. It is painted with acrylic colours on canvas-textured paper. Look at the detail shot and you will get an Idea of what it looks like. Actually this painting looks much cooler in real life then on these pictures.

I posted it to a guy in the USA this morning. I wonder what I will recieve?

Smoking

Another smoking Bond. I know smoking is bad for you. But Bond simply does not look right without a smoke.

This is the first real color pic I did. It is not that long ago I put down a lot of time and in the end, with some guidence from a friend it turned out OK I think.

The inspiration came from reading the original Ian Flemming novel 'Dr NO'. Bond in the center looks a bit beaten up because he is put through torture by Dr No. Dr No is in the background here as you can se. The smoking corpse at Bonds feet is his ally and friend, Cayman Fisherman Quarrel, burned to death by Dr No's mechanical dragon (!). Also in the background are some gigant tentacles. They belong to Dr No's pet, a gigant octopus that almost eats Bond! The girl is Honey Rider. A orphan girl that comes into the line of fire and teams up with Bond and Quarrel.
